Discuss ongoing security support

Tell me about your organisation and the kind of advice you’d find useful. I’ll help establish whether the retainer is a suitable fit.

Useful starting points:

• Who currently manages your IT and security.

• The questions or decisions you regularly need help with.

• Any existing improvement plan or outstanding concerns.

• How frequently you expect to need support.

Before you send

Please don’t include passwords, credentials, or other sensitive information in an initial enquiry. If we need to share anything sensitive, we’ll agree a secure way to do it.

Practical advice as your business changes.

New suppliers, customer questionnaires, changes to systems and competing priorities can all raise security questions. An ongoing relationship gives you a familiar person to discuss them with.

Build an ongoing relationship with an adviser who knows your environment, previous decisions and outstanding concerns.

Up to two hours of independent security advisory time per billing month. Discussions, meetings, preparation and document reviews count towards this allowance.

An initial response within two UK working days, Monday–Friday excluding UK bank holidays. This means acknowledging your request and agreeing next steps; it is not a promise to resolve the matter within that period.

Implementation, penetration testing, extensive assessments, continuous monitoring, and emergency or 24/7 incident response are separate engagements.

Discuss ongoing support

Agree the support. Keep the relationship useful.

We agree what you need, confirm what’s included, then use the retainer as questions and decisions come up.

Additional work is only carried out when it has been scoped and agreed separately.

  • 1. Discuss your needs — identify the questions, decisions and support you expect to need.
  • 2. Confirm the support you need, contact channels and start date, and agree the subscription terms before payment.
  • 3. Establish the starting point — review relevant information about your systems, providers and priorities. If substantial discovery is needed, we scope it separately.
  • 4. Use the agreed support — bring questions and decisions as they arise, with check-ins arranged within your allowance.
  • 5. Review the fit — assess whether the arrangement still matches your needs. Additional work requires your agreement before proceeding.

Common questions about Ronin’s Ongoing Security Advisory.

What does £500 per month include?

Up to two hours of independent security advisory time per billing month. Discussions, meetings, preparation and document reviews count towards this allowance. Additional work is agreed and priced separately.

How quickly will you respond?

You’ll receive an initial response within two UK working days, Monday–Friday excluding UK bank holidays. This acknowledges your request and sets out the next steps. The time needed for substantive advice or completing work depends on the request and is agreed with you.

Is this an emergency or 24/7 incident-response service?

No. The retainer does not include continuous monitoring, an emergency hotline or guaranteed incident response.

Will you implement changes for us?

Implementation is scoped and priced separately. The retainer supports advice, decisions and coordination within the agreed allowance.

Can you work with our MSP or internal IT team?

Yes. We can involve them in discussions, clarify responsibilities and review proposed improvements. Time spent in those discussions counts towards the allowance.

Do we need to buy another Ronin service first?

No. We first establish whether enough information is available to provide useful advice. Any substantial initial assessment or discovery is agreed and priced separately.

What happens if we need more time?

I’ll flag work that would exceed your allowance and agree the additional scope and fee before proceeding.

How does cancellation work?

The subscription renews monthly. You can cancel before your next renewal to stop future charges. Your agreed support remains available until the end of the paid billing month, subject to the remaining allowance.

Does unused time roll over?

No. The two-hour allowance applies to each billing month. Unused time expires at the end of that period and does not accumulate.

Does this make Ronin responsible for all our security?

Your organisation retains responsibility for its decisions and operations. My advisory responsibilities and any specific deliverables are defined in our agreement.
